I booked 2 days of private guiding (winter climbing) at the end of March. From making initial contact I was very impressed with all aspects of my booking. Ken was very prompt in his email responses and gave me all the up to date information I required for a great 2 days of climbing. Weather was unpredictable and at one... More

We decided to treat ourselves to a private winter guided day in Scotland and booked for early March. We had emailed Ken with some potential routes beforehand but unfortunately the conditions had been particularly poor in early 2017 and these weren’t in condition. However, our guide on the day, Stu Lade, picked a fab route (North Buttress on the Buachaille)... More

Great experience doing my first "technical" mountain climb with Chris guiding. West Coast Mountain Guides organised it for me very quickly and were very helpful explaining kit that I needed etc given that I am a novice. Would climb with them again for sure

On two previous winter trips up Ben Nevis via the CMD route, I had marvelled at the majestic North Face and dreamt of fulfilling a route on it's flanks. This season, Ken at West Coast Mountain Guides helped me fulfil this dream by guiding me on the classic Tower Ridge (IV, 3). The whole experience was absolutely fantastic and Ken... More

We met Steve early on Saturday morning ('we' being 3 men in our mid-30s with lots of outdoor but no mountaineering experience) and he took us up a perfectly suited route to the top of Ben Nevis.... Ken and our guide for the day, Dave Anderson, paid incredible detail to what we wanted to achieve and put the day together around that We had several plans depending on how the weather turned out but stuck with plan A... Both my daughter and I had winter climbing experience, but wanted to make the most of limited opportunities to get up to Scotland. Booking West Coast Guides was the key to success. Despite poor winter conditions so far this year and a dodgy forecast of high wind and precipitation, Stu Lade our allocated guide selected exactly the right route -... More
