Such a sense of a achievement is felt the moment you reach the top!! Steady slog uphill for about 3 hours! About 2 hours coming down!! Make sure you carry correct gear as always as was 17 degrees by the visitors centre and -2 at the summit!

I decided on a whim to travel to Ben Nevis by myself to go up and down the mountain. Checked the weather beforehand it it looked good (14degrees sunny ground level). I set off at 8am from then Glen Nevis visitor centre car park and was back at my car for around 2pm. Went to the summit and back. The... More

Not the best of weather, rain and wind makes for an uncomfortable walk. The low clouds made the view a lot less inspiring and hide the top of Ben Nevis from us for much of the day but then the sun came out and we noticed the rain had actually stopped there was still a strong breeze. We did not... More

Such beautiful place to visit. Highly recommend to everyone to visit. Take a camera and decent pair pair of boots. If weather is nice you will not be disappointed in its beauty.

Great track, recently upgraded and nicely done. They are still working on the start, but its well signposted and there is a great ranger station at the bottom for advice.

We started the climb from the youth hostel, I would say the first 40 mins is tough going & by far the hardest but as soon as your ten mins from the halfway point it did get so much easier!! We got to the top in a snow blizzard & had our champagne lunch. There is an observatory but people... More

It took us 8 hours to get up and down but it was with it. After the red burn you need warm clothes . At the top there is quite a bit of snow .

Weather was clear, so was able to see Ben Nevis in all its wonderful glory, what a superb site. Try the food in the Ben Nevis Inn, it's very good and scrumptious.

We went to Ben Nevis full of enthusiasm, began walking and managed two hours it was too much for us. Lots of people passed us on their way up. We are not seasoned walkers/climbers and it is quite steep. So we turned around when we'd had enough and taken lots of photos... well worth a try if your able.
