Opened in 1993 by Prince Edward, Inverness Botanic Gardens, formerly Inverness Floral Hall & Gardens, are an oasis of calm and beauty within walking distance of the city centre. With each new season the outside gardens are an explosion of colour and texture, and borders are planted to demonstrate a wide variety of plants and growing conditions. The impressive glasshouses reveal the drama of plant diversity ranging from the tropical rainforests to arid, heat scorched desert.

Very nice botanic garden. Loved the large heather tree. Talked with one of the gardeners about the different varieties. Not large but still worth seeing

I had planned go to visit the gardens when visiting Inverness based on the high ratings on TripAdvisor and it's high placing of things to do in Inverness. We found it slightly difficult to find and thought it would be signposted better. Anyway, it was...More

A free entry garden run by a charity. Donations are appreciated. It has a tropical hot house and another with cactuses. Nice outside too with plenty of variety. There is also a cafe there.

Not the easiest place to find but well worth it! Some very impressive plants, especially the cacti. Lots of plants to buy also and a nice café.

While not very big, this is a lovely garden and greenhouse. The variety is impressive considering the small grounds but lovely nonetheless. There is even a cafe for a snack while you are here.

The botanic gardens are free to visit. There is a cafe with really friendly staff. The weather was nice so we were able to visit outside in the gardens and have drinks which was fantastic. It's quite small so you won't spend hours here, but...More

A well laid out garden on a small site. The variety and colour of the plants and the attractive layout combined to make our visit really memorable. We enjoyed an excellent light meal in the cafe attached beforehand.

I usually park at the aquadome, it is literally a stones throw from the car park to the Botanical gardens. The time is as you see fit . It isn't huge but there is a cafe that makes scrumptious food. ( the cobb I think it is... More
