Definitely visit this place if you are in Inverness. Plenty of things to see and to do, including interactive stuff. Will be very interesting for kids although I really enjoyed my visit as an adult!

Interesting museum & art gallery, covering many aspects of Inverness and Scottish history. We were lucky when we went there as there was a Lego exhibition as well.

This is a small museum, but interesting in all kinds of ways. The shop offers a variety of Pictish-style jewellery, which would make a nice present for someone on your return.
