What a fantastic trip!! The water was choppy where the North Sea met the Atlantic Ocean but otherwise smooth. Absolutely beautiful boat trip!! Adults and children will love this. Also has an amazing general store with everything imaginable in it. And believe it or not there was a Starbucks at the ferry landing!

We visited a few months and went on the John o groats wildlife ferry. The scenery and wildlife that were about were amazing! We will definitely be returning.

We had a safe and comfortable ride to the Orkney Islands on this ferry as part of our Globus tour of Scotland. We left John O' Groats and arrived in St. Margaret's Hope in the Orkney's, where we met our "Orkney Bus" and guide,

We received excellent service from John O'Groats Ferry. Our tickets had been ordered online and were ready for pickup the night before our journey to Orkney. We were, however, cautioned by local businesses and our guide on Orkney that the ferry has been leaving a bit early. We made sure we were earlier than we normally would be and we... More

We took the bus-ferry combo from Kirkwall to Inverness and were not disappointed. The bus starts at Kirkwall Tourist Centre (City Centre) and drops us off at Brunswick Ferry Terminal. We board the ferry and make the crossing to tha mainland in about 45 minutes. The crossing is comfortable and picturesque - and the ferry has all the basic amenities...... More

The wildlife cruise provided by John O'Groats Ferries is an absolute must-do if you are visiting the North of Scotland. The boat travelled round Stroma where we saw 20+ seals in their natural habitat, an amazing sight for someone who's lived in the city all her life! The ferry then carried on round Duncansby Head and the Stacks which was... More

A combined ferry ticket plus coach tour gives you a return ferry John O'Groats to Orkney plus a coach tour of Orkney lasting 9 hours. The ferry was efficient and on time with plenty of wildlife to see on the crossing. The tour coach was modern, comfortable and clean. We expected the driver to just drop us off at each site, but,... More

Decided to take the wildlife trip which lasted approx 90 minutes. Disappointed that most of the wildlife seemed to be hiding, only saw a few seals and gulls/sea eagle and some other birds on the rocks that looked like a type of gull. No sign of puffins or dolphins on our trip, no orcas although I think that was optimistic... More

This is one tour I would love to be able to give more stars. The road trip is one of the better ones for the avid traveler and Orkney itself just keeps giving. Meets all expectations plus some.

We caught the Orkney Bus at 7.15am from Inverness bus station. Three hours later we were at John O'Groats. Good commentary en route and the chance to order sandwiches for the return journey, if you are on the day trip. We weren't on the day trip, staying in Orkney for a week, but we were still able to book our... More
