Theater, music, comedy, restaurants, shopping and friendly locals. What's not to love?! Glasgow's West End was our favorite city in our Scotland/Ireland visit. It did not have the frenetic tourist energy of Edinburgh and Dublin and we found it very easy to navigate.

The well heeled end of Glasgow is a great place to hang out. Great parks, museums and restaurants. It's the jewel in Glasgow's culinary scene for sure. Don't miss the Mackintosh House and Eusebi Deli for a fab meal.

I recently spent two days on Glasgow's west end and enjoyed walking to the various shops, restaurants, bars, Kelvingrove Park, and Kelvingrove Museum. Public transportation (buses and subway) make it easy to access, or stay in one of the many small hotels. Very lively area!

The place to be if you want to get away from the typical downtown vibe. Great restaurants and some great shopping.

I grew up in the West End and went to school there so its always great to take visitors or just go and soak up the atmosphere. Lots of things going on, good shopping, fabulous restaurants and close to a lot of events and festivals.

I'd definitely recommend getting the underground to the botanical gardens as parking can be tricky. Some side streets do have parking available, but the availability can be a bit hit or a miss!

The Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road is probably your best bet.
