We only had a day in Glasgow, and the majority was spent in the West End. From the riverside, through the parks and museums and up to Ashton Lane, there is plenty to keep most people occupied for a couple of days. Very similar to other UK cities where the old industries have been replaced by modern day activities.

We travelled through/and to the West End numerous times on our visit to Glasgow, finding it a most interesting area with attractive parks, a great museum, a university with buildings beyond description, and a wide array of restaurants and shops. Would love to spend much more time there in the future.

Would start with the Kelvingrove Museum, through Kelvingrove Park, onto University Avenue and see the 'yooni' and then on to some eateries etc on Byres Road. Real student atmosphere and lots of places to eat and drink.

We travelled to the West End, and wished we could have stayed longer. So many restaurants, bars, and little stores, eclectic area. We had coffee, doughnuts, drinks, lunch, any and everything that you could experience. We left before dinnertime, but I believe that it would not have disappointed either. Many people milling about. Wish we could have explored more.

Never seen so many bushy beards and twirly mustaches in my life as Glasgow West End this weekend. This place is really cool, lots of interesting bars and great places to eat. Kelvingrove park is lovely in the sunshine, buskers, families playing together, visiting museums, botanic gardens, just so much to see and do. Be warned it can be wearing... More

Lots of choices of venues and food places...on the open top bus route. Ashton Lane has a great vibe. Couldn't find live Scottish music in the bars Very friendly locals.

Love Glasgow's West End area of watering holes, eating places & quirky shops. Would recommend to anyone..! Ashton Lane on a nice, summer evening is especially pleasant for standing outside with a cool drink just soaking up the atmosphere and banter :-)

The West end of Glasgow is one of my favourite places to visit. There is always a great atmosphere in the area with lots of quaint and quirky cafes, bistros, bars and restaurants serving a variety of different cuisines from around the world. You feel such an amazing buzz in the air, in such a lovely, sociable environment.

Glasgow is a gem to be savored; for it's people, architecture, history, and diversity. Scotland has a treasure of polar opposites with respect to it's geology and what better way to display this diversity than in the structures and architecture adorning this metro area. We walked the city, from east to west and back again and in awe of the... More
