Elegant, peaceful, calming. We went to a wedding reception here and it was the perfect setting both inside and outside.

To see the collaborative work of CRM and his wife Margaret Macdonald was a long-held dream and I am thrilled to have finally made the trip to Glasgow. The short tour to see part of the Mackintosh house was highly informative and very enjoyable. Take...More

Mackintosh had a huge influence on Glasgow and the wider Art Deco movement and his Glasgow "home" is therefore a must for anyone interested in the genre - well worth the entrance fee!

Really enjoyed our visit, took a morning tour and the guide was excellent, pointing out all the details. He, however, went a bit OTT when I accidentally touched a chair when pointing at it!

Part of the Glasgow University Hungarian museum complex, this is the house in which CRM and his wife lived. They renovated it significantly, adding many of the features that would become trade marks in their works/buildings. There are experts in each room, very enthusiastic to...More

This is a tiny museum, because it is selected rooms reconstructed of Mackintosh's home. So to be satisfied, you must have a keen interest in him or architecture. But seeing this place, you realize how ahead of his time his ideas were.

The museum is an impressive collection of Mackintosh furniture, the interior of the house coming from his original home which was demolished but the interior preserved. I certainly came out of there wanting to totally strip down the clutter of my life and have a...More
