It isn't the easiest place to photograph from the outside, but the conversion into function suites inside is a credit to modern architects and designers. It's amazing to see what has been done inside.

We visited here to look at all the Mackintosh items of which there are many. I like the way the items are displayed and explained. The view from the top of the building is amazing.

The tour was interesting and the guide knowledgeable and if she was unsure was prepared to find the answers. The building combines Mackintoshes genius with modern day ideas and succeeds. The exhibition on mackintosh and the trip up the tower was a real highlight and...More

We started our Charles Rennie Mackintosh exploration at the Lighthouse, which is in a building that his firm designed. The Mackintosh exhibit on the 3rd floor gave a constructive view of his work and life. And it's free!

I only had time at the Lighthouse for the viewing platform and the Mackintosh exhibit on the 3rd floor-so am not reviewing other parts of the building. The Tower and viewing area (6th floor) are fine, although several of us rode up and down the...More

The Lighthouse (Scotland's Centre for Architecture and Design) is a fusion of the 'A' Listed Herald Building (first public building Mackintosh was involved with)and the swish 'battery pack' extension Page/Parker architects creatively clipped onto the original structure in 1999. The tour on Saturdays at 1pm...More

A wonderful museum with various interesting exhibits featuring Mackintosh and Glasgow style and design. The climb through the tower is amazing as is the view from the glass room.

The display of Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired hats made me 'smile out loud'. It was worth the visit just for that. I loved the exhibition spaces and the drawings/plans and even the circular staircase (once I'd recovered from the climb). Lots of places to sit...More

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your visit. The Mackintosh millinery exhibition by William Chambers was extremely popular - as well as making me smile on a daily basis! We hope you will visit again soon.

Located down a wee lane at the foot of Bucanan Street. Visiting here is worth it for the views inside of the old Glasgow Herald building, and from the viewing windows at the top of Glasgow rooftops.
