Scotland Street School Museum, a working school until the late 1970s, hosts regular fun family events. It offers a fascinating insight as to what school days were like in the reign of Queen Victoria, during World War II, and in the 1950s and 60s, in three reconstructed classrooms. Architecturally significant, the school was designed by Scotland's most famous architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. His designs for the school are on display. Refreshments can be taken in the Willow Cafe.

We've done the school tour before, but visited this time specifically to see the "GlaswegAsians" exhibition. Very interesting indeed, lots of information about the first Asians to settle in the city & details about their lives & businesses, many of which businesses still exist today.

I take my 9yr old daughter there regularly with various friends & they always love it. If travelling by car it's best to park right opposite the school in Shields Rd car park. When you are leaving just show your parking ticket to the museum...More

We went to Scotland Street School for the Horrible Heidie tour. It was a brilliant day out and we learnt so much about the history and architecture of the building.

This old school has been kept in wonderful condition. It shows a range of historical schoolroom from victorian to 60s/70's. But the main attraction is the building itself. Designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh, it is excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. Easy to get to on the...More

Easy access by subway with a stop right across the street - the exterior architectural details are of more interest than the interiors. The stone carving is unique to this building and beautifully executed w/ a art nouveau style that anticipates the more geometrical style...More

This was my first visit though I had heard a lot about this particular museum - a school which was designed by Rennie McIntosh. The 'cafe' leaves a lot to be desired but thankfully that was not the object of the visit. Classrooms are laid...More
