After many years waiting I eventually got to visit the Falkirk Wheel which was everything I had expected. Make sure you arrive early as we nearly missed the last tourist boat, got the tickets boarded the boat and entered the lift which is feat of...More

I wasn't overly interested in seeing this, but I should have been. It's great. Fascinating watching the barges go up on the wheel. There's a fun educational bit for kids and the young at heart. A big sand pit too and a willow maze. The...More

We weren't sure what to expect but we were not disappointed. The boat trip through the lift is very interesting and enjoyable. Glad we did it-what a pleasant way to spend a few hours. Recommend for everyone.

The technology is old but so effective. The visitor centre tells you all about it and it's okay for food too. After the wheel go to the top and walk through the tunnel and watch the barges climb up the locks. If your lucky to...More

The Wheel was one of the main reasons we chose Falkirk as the base for our recent break. It is an amazing piece of engineering working on a very simple and age old principle. We visited the Wheel twice during our visit; the first time...More

Called here on the way back from a wonderful week on the west coast and Glencoe. Had wanted to see it for several years and we were not disappointed with the wheel and managed to see it in operation several times. It is a marvellous...More

The boat doesn't come to a stop on the trip so there is nowhere to step off till you come back. It is not a hard walk to the top though
