Pedestrians only except for the approach road, providing a lengthy promenade with railings, sandy tidal beach on the southern shores of the Firth of Forth. Amazing selection of excellent Fish and Chip shops ("Chippys") on the promenade, featuring zingy-fresh house-battered cod, haddock and whiting.

Loved this beautiful sandy beach, proper British seaside. We went once in the sun which was gorgeous and the next day when it was a bit chillier but still loved it. Perfect for walking the dog or paddling in the sea if you're race enough!

Ok...if you are looking for a Spanish beach in Scotland ...don't visit. This is a beach situated in Scotland so don't expect crystal clear blue water and idyllic sands and beachside restaurants and cafes. If you bear that in mind you won't be disappointed. Portobello...More
