Few words are needed to describe this facility. It is simply fantastic. Just go. This visit was as good as the last I did here four years ago.

We did this with the castle tour and both were great! Very well kept exhibits, clean grounds and pricing is in the ballpark of most museums and site seeing exhibits in the city. Go to the castle early as after lunch it turns into a...More

The building is right in the middle of the castle complex and externally blends in well with the older buildings. Internally it has the feel of a cathedral and is of the heavy dignified style typical of many memorials found on the battlefields of northern...More

Great place to escape the rain, as it is less crowded than others at the castle. Amazing how many wars the U.K. has been involved in all round the world in the last century or two.

Very nice display and also has books with names of soldiers serving in past wars. Building is impressive and one of the few interesting things to see at Edinburgh Castle.

If you are visiting Edinburgh Castle then you will also gain entry into this museum. Interesting if, like my husband, you are interested in Military History. I found the exhibits about the ordinary soldiers the most interesting.

Old Town

visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
