We are Edinburgh's only City Farm located in Gorgie, near Tynecastle. We have large and small livestock including cows, pigs, goats & chickens, and rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises & a snake and are open to the public for FREE - 7 days a week, with donations appreciated and relied upon to help look after the animals and support the 130+ youth and vulnerable adults who work on the farm every week. We now only have disabled parking so would encourage you to come by bus or lift share if practical as local parking is limited. We offer volunteering opportunities and children's activities including parties. Check out our website for information or get in touch!

Really love this place! Good selection of animals and my little girl has had so many close encounters with the animals such as being able to sit and hold the guinea pigs, Freda the tortoise, a week old chick and see a hedgehog up close. We love every minute of visiting this great farm. So many happy memories made here... More

Lovely wee selection of animals, but the enclosures could be doing with being made a bit bigger, especially for all of the varieties of pigs, it just didn't seem like they had that much room to move about, made us a bit sad:( There is a garden area that could be put to better use by making more space for... This little farm is good considering you only pay a donation. Don't expect to be there all day but certainly enough to pass a hour or so. If your kids are over the age of 7/8 I would look for alternatives but for the younger ones they should enjoy it.

What more can city dwellers ask for than way to get easy access to one of the most important facts of life, where food comes from.

Loved every minute of it, volunteer run farm where animals are kept in good conditions. Small petting zoo as well, the highlight however were the sheep! Take a look if you're close by!!

Loved it ... especially the Hungarian Hairy Pigs which have to be seen to be believed; they're amazing!! Really great place for young and old alike, it's small but well worth a visit, you won't regret it especially if you have young children or grandkids in tow.

Good place to see animals that you wouldn't get to see in a city. Is very small though. And some of the animals don't have a lot of space which isn't nice to see. Was fun seeing the bunch of guinea pigs though

Our 6 year old girl loved it, she had lots of fun with the goats and pigs, stroking them and talking to them. Our 9 year old was not so impressed. However, as it is free, and relies on donations it's worth a visit if you want a break from the city.

Great family day out to get up and close with the animals. Great way to teach the kids about nature and you really get up and close to the animals. They also do bunny boarding if you want to go on holiday. Is mostly run by volunteers and rely on public money for funds. It's a hidden gem in the... More
