A nice side tour, although a little touristy, a fun experience for the money and of the whiskey regions of Scotland. A free taste at the end and get to keep the glass.

Street of light 2015 was much better than 2016. Green and yellow lights nowhere near as nice as the red and blue the year before. Also the change in location from the Royal Mile to George Street affected the atmosphere.

A beautiful and ancient city, really worth visiting, so much to do for everyone, nightlife great, people friendly, sights and sounds that will stay with me for many years to come, thank you Edinburgh!

Since the Street of Light was not far from our apartment, we decided to walk over one evening to see what it was all about. Basically an archway of LED lights whose change is somewhat synchronized with recorded music (for about 20 minutes or so)....More

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything
but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street;
even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
