This tour takes about one hour. Our guide was amusing and knowledgeable and helped us understand how people lived in the past. Price was reasonable. We were warned about the many steps involved in the tour but negotiated them easily. One of the best attractions...More

I’m a little weary of going on tours usually. You can get stuck with a guide who is just going through the motions - but Paul at Mary Kings is awesome. He has a surreal and dry sense of humour combined with a great and...More

It was very disappointing, compared to the last time I was there. They have spoiled it with the theatrics and they have lost the atmosphere of the place with the different delivery of the tour. Previously it was just someone talking about the history and...More

Liked the tour and enjoyed the guide, Chris Trotter. Felt like the cpmpany overcrowds the tour. We had 21 people and most of the small rooms barely held the group. My view was often obstructed because I was behind someone or stuck in a corner....More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

Hello, As our tour is indoors, we wouldn't recommend wrapping up too warmly. Some of the rooms can be on the cooler side, but it isn't usually as cold as outside. Hope that helps. Kind regards, The Real Mary King's Close
