The place is beautiful, the food is delicious, lost the 5 star rate due to the arrogant reception. They made some confusion with my reservation (ALREADY PAID) and just figured it out after kindly ask me to go away. Even after found the reservation it was describing the wrong amount of people. Terrible first impression. After this it was kind... More

I had been looking forward to my visit today as it was highly recommended by a relative who has dined in the Dome on several occasions and was treating me to lunch today. The food was excellent more than I can say for the waiter who took over our table from our original waiter Tomasz who we could not fault.... More

Have been to the Dome on 3 or 4 occasions for coffee but this time had lunch in the club room. The Dome is really not to be missed if you are in Edinburgh. Go in even if it's just to have a look at this wonderful building. This is such a beautiful place , very comfortable in luxurious surroundings.... More

The Dome is enchanting on the inside. From the stunning dome above you to the giant floral bouquets and chandeliers, it drips elegance and beauty. We ordered the garlic and herb chicken breast and the Dome burger. They were okay but lacking flavor and sophistication for such a high rated restaurant. The staff is very attentive and on top of... This place is a must if you're going to Edinburgh. I have just come back from Las Vegas and this definitely gives Las Vegas a run for its money on the spectacular front! I just went here for drinks and the interior is just so beautiful - the floral arrangements and the ladies toilets are amazing. I will definitely come... More

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
