Great place to go in the centre of Edinburgh but look out for events and concerts which regularly take place during the summer. Brilliant venue and Castle makes an enchanting backdrop.

While staying on Prince's Street, this was my place for a daily run It is great to avoid the pedestrian traffic on the street. Great views. Green space in the middle, gardens on the sides. Nice for a romantic walk after dinner.

Edinburgh with its old buildings and castles and so much history behind all these buildings. Edinburgh is definitely a must at least once in our lifetime for all of us who like history.

This is a large, several block, garden on Princess Street just below the castle. It stretches from Waverly train station to St. Cuthberts Church. Right now (Sept '17) the beautiful fountain is all apart and being rebuilt. You can watch the workmen through windows in...More

Well worth a stroll through these gardens. Make sure you find out about the origins of the site! Very well maintained and a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Life is hectic so take time to relax, think, enjoy a walk, sit on the grass (if its dry.....) and enjoy Edinburgh. Great location.

Old Town

visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

No there is no entrance free. It is open and accessible. Possibly there was a special exhibit in a location in the park that had a fee, but not sure.
