Visited 3 of the 7 stanes when in Dumfries (others being Dalbeatie and Forest of Ae) and out of the 3 this one offers the most tame red route. Not very exciting but it's a nice enough place - good to go to build your...More

Great place for cycling and walking, tracks and walkways are clearly marked out and there's a path for all kinds of adventurers. The only downside to the day was the amount of dog mess that owners had never picked up, some of them do but...More

Mabie has few facilities - the bike shop is now closed, there’s no cafe and we didn’t find a bike wash. This is perhaps that the car park is a little way asay from the magic of the trails and there appeared to be little...More

A great location for walking and Mountain Biking, has nice family trails, good greens and blues. Red trails is flowing with some technical features, but not a huge number ( not recommend for small children. Or basic skill level riders) Will revisit

Recently took a walk at the Mabie Forest with our daughter and her grandparents. It was perfect us. We wanted something challenging enough to keep us happy, but easy enough so a toddler could hike. It was the perfect place to satisfy everyone's abilities. There...More

Visited Mabie for an afternoon on the bikes after doing Kirroughtree the day before (big mistake - our legs were in bits by the end!). The trails themselves are interesting and we done the full red ones and didn't find them too technically challenging with...More
