First time on this railway. Train was packed and as I hear it's always packed as they never put enough carriages on. Quickest way to get to central Edinburgh from tweedbank.

A return from Galashiels to the centre of Edinburgh cost us £10.50 each. We reckon that's pretty good value and of course it made our day in the capital much more relaxing than would have been the case if we'd driven. We caught the 10.34...More

The new railway links the Borders to Edinburgh, and also to itself. It is an economic project with connective infrastructure linking and revitalizing communities in beautiful landscapes, with great touristic opportunities, and enriching lots of people's lives with homes jobs, education and healthcare.

Marvellous route, spotless carriages and exactly on time. Wonderful not only that they revived this line but also that it exceeded all expectations economically and from a tourist point of view. A real success story.
