Friendly staff, fun experience, awesome whisky
Sep. 2019
Myself and some friends went on a tour and whisky tasting here and had a blast. The tour guide was funny and informative, answering all our questions about the local area and the whisky making process. The building is tastefully decorated and kitted out so it feels modern and old fashioned all at once and the whisky we tasted at the end was so delicious I bought a bottle of the Victoriana to take home as well as a bottle of Double Cask for my parents, which they thoroughly appreciated as part of their Anniversary present. If I come back to Kintyre I will definitely be visiting Glen Scotia again.

Fantastic tour of a great Campbeltown distillery
Feb. 2020
This was a return trip to Glen Scotia run by Ian McAllister who knows about whisky and seriously good customer care . We were taken on the tour by Roseanne not only did she give a brilliant guided tour but her clear and knowledgeable delivery was informative yet fun.
This distillery is special because it's a well run place and all staff seem friendly and happy. Glen Scotia whisky products are excellent this is a go to distillery for the discerning whisky lover - a warm welcome awaits you enjoy the tasting whether Ian or Roseanne you will love the experience.

Fantastic tour
Oct. 2019
Our group are a bunch whisky enthusiasts and we had the managers tour and that was just what we needed to ask the more indepth and technical questions.
The tasting was superb all cask samples and products to become. The interaction with the manager was briliant.

Fantastic informative visit
Dec. 2019 • Couples
Dropped into Campbeltown on a wet and windy afternoon and after a walk around town decided to have a stroll along the esplanade towards the distillery.... building is a bit uninspiring from the outside but inside we were treated royally and our young lady guide was most knowledgeable, informative and patient with my questions (being not very into whisky)

She discussed and showed us various different samples and tasters and didn't pressurise us into buying anything.

Having said that we came away with two bottles of some of the ones we did try.

Prices from the sublime to the ( frankly ) ridiculous but I guess proper "connoisseurs" might appreciate the difference.

But we couldn't fault our visit and it was one of the highlights of our holiday.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Recommended. Thanks.

Good Price for a Good Tour
Oct. 2019
Considering you get a dram of whisky included in the ticket price, £7 seems a very reasonable fee!

Our guide was extremely informative, engaging and interesting. He answered any questions we had and generally made for a great tour.

The tour only runs at certain times, so check beforehand when the next tour is so you don't have to wait around (like we did!). You can either book in advance or just turn up on the day.

I would recommend this tour if you are in the area, but be aware it is not wheelchair accessible (at least not that we could see), so if you have mobility issues I'd contact them first to see if there is a version of the tour they can offer you.

Campbeltons hidden Gem

A last minute visit included us in the back of a group who were already half way round. A cheerful and passionate quide rounded our picture of all the processes involved in distilling whisky.
This is a traditional distillery which has been going since the 1860’s with huge sucess.
We finished with a tasting and each of us bought a beautiful bottle of Bourboun finished very fine whisky! Gorgeous!
Glad it was less than 2 miles to Craighard House given the punch this stuff packs!
But with such superbe weather we dumped our bags and left the distillery and the hotel behind as we made our way down to Southend.

Fantastic tasting session.
Sep. 2019 • Couples
Visited for the Coig tasting session. 5 whiskies, 4 core and 1 special whisky. All whiskies were wonderful, each in their own way. Our host was knowledgeable, personable and engaging. As one of us had to drive she suggested the drivers dram. The idea of a 'drivers dram' is excellent- for the whisky loving driver they give a bottled dram of each of the whiskies tasted to try at home. Great idea. We have been to many distillery tours and tastings and this is right up there as one of the best.

We had a great time experiencing the Glen Scotia distillery tour with our flatcoated retriever Brodie who was also made to feel very welcome.

Tour guide knew her stuff and imparted it well. Nice to meet various different people with varying roles. Thank you.

Disappointed as closed
Sep. 2019 • Couples
Checked website for opening times
which confirmed open from 10am till 5pm.

Arrived at 11.10am and door was closed with sign advising doing tour and back in hour. Signage further down said tours started 11.30am.

Came back at 11.40am and had to leave as still closed. Disappointed I could not get to shop as Glen Scotia is friends favourite and wanted to purchase something special for a present.

Website should make it clear you are not open whilst doing tours and stick to tour times and not close early. There were three other groups who could not get in in the time we were there.
