Springbank Distillery is one of the main visitor attractions in Campbeltown, Kintyre. It is one of three distilleries remaining in Campbeltown which, in the 19th century, was classed as 'The Whisky Capital of the World'. Established in 1828, Springbank is the oldest independent family owned distillery in Scotland and is the only distillery in Scotland to carry out the full production process on one site - from the traditional floor maltings through to the bottling.

The distillery is undergoing alterations at the present time and our visit was necessarily curtailed because of this. Still, it's an excellent £5 worth, considering you get a taste of whisky on site, and a miniature to take away with you. We were guided by...More

This tour is extremely informative and you get to see all the different processes. Only down side was that we couldn't get into the malt barn however the price reflected this. We also got a dram and a miniature to take home.

Interesting tour through the process, although malt room and bottling plant closed. Tour guide knowledgable and interesting. Tasting fun. Gift shop well stocked and well laid out.

One of the best tours I have had the pleasure of taking. Our guide was knowledgeable, charming and entertaining. She was a credit to the company.

We loved the Springbank distillery. It really stands out in the Scotch landscape as being one of the last family owned distillery and it has a special distillation process (2.5 distillation !). The basic distillery tour is very nice, but we recommend amateurs to take...More

I'll admit I came all the way from Canada with the intention of touring the Sprinbank Distillery on my holiday. What I didn't do before driving all the way down to Campbeltown, on a late Saturday afternoon, was checking into their operating hours, nor book...More

Tour guide John made this an excellent couple of hours round two distilleries on this site. Education and entertainment and some good whisky to taste afterwards. Highly recommend a trip round this friendly distillery which produces some fine malts.

We met with a group of friends and visited on a day on which the Springbank distillery was not creating any whiskey. This did not detract from enjoyment of he tour. We picked up our tickets from the little whiskey shop and walked a couple...More

Had a tour at the Springbank and Glendale distillery. Good tour guide, a bit of a Scottish accent though what made it (at some points of the tour) hard to follow the explanation -mostly in the noisy points at the distillery .Springbank distillery gives you...More

Took the short Tour around this traditionally run Distillery. The Lady guiding the Tour was very friendly and informative which made for a lovely and interesting Tour. Wish now that we had taken the longer Tour. Would recommend highly to others.

It started in the morning around 10:00 but I can't remember for sure. You can email them to find out for sure. We walked around town with a very nice guy from Springbank who pointed out the locations of several of the old... More
