Springbank Distillery is one of the main visitor attractions in Campbeltown, Kintyre. It is one of three distilleries remaining in Campbeltown which, in the 19th century, was classed as 'The Whisky Capital of the World'. Established in 1828...more
Excellent tour in the most traditional of distilleries. I knew what to expect but the Americans on my tour were amazed. The tour guide was by far the best I have come across knowledge wise (10am 21st sept). Unfortunately I had to leave the tour...More
We have visited a number of Distilleries but Springbank is quite unique. Everything is done on site including the bottling and labelling. The guided tour was most informative and we also took in the Glengyle Distillery which is on the same site. One traditional and...More
Very informative about traditional methods, so a great place for comparison of times/methods with many of the distilleries throughout the Speyside region. Excellent tasting room. Be aware that if you are driving you will get a takeaway bottle which may lesson the fun but increase...More

On a malt whisky trail, we started in Campbelltown at Springbank Distillery. After that, we went over to Islay to visit others. The Springbank was by far the best we went to. They were extremely friendly in a homely and not too formal way. We...More

The tour guide Cara was well informed and very knowledgeable about the whiskey making process and very confident talking in front of us rowdy Barnsley lads, and also could take banter really well. The whiskey is beautiful shame I couldn’t get anymore without buying it....More

It started in the morning around 10:00 but I can't remember for sure. You can email them to find out for sure. We walked around town with a very nice guy from Springbank who pointed out the locations of several of the old now closed distilleries then went to the Cadenheads shop for a wee dram then an excellent lunch. After that we had a private tour of the distillery then ended up in a warehouse with "Pops" the head distiller who treated us to 6-7 drams directly from the casks. Finished up late afternoon. I think they are somewhat flexible on times for this tour since it's small. Just my family (5 people) on our tour. An excellent experience.
