The University of Aberdeen has the only large, international collection of zoological specimens in the north of Scotland. The Zoology Museum's displays have just been renovated and include a new exhibit about evolution, as well as a stuffed Bengal tiger, most species of Scottish birds, skeletons of great apes and whales, and a wide variety of other curious creatures.

Absolutely amazing museum. We visited with 3 children, 11,9 and 7yrs. All throughly enjoyed themselves. Exhibitions were fantastic and well set out. We all learnt something new. We didn't know that public could enter the university building but stumbled across the information on the internet....More

Can't believe I've never visited here before! Had a huge collection of animals, birds, fish, butterflies..... much more than I expected! The boys (6 and 7) really enjoyed the visit. Free too!!
