Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A large park in the suburbs of Aberdeen with good facilities for parking, public transport, kids play areas and adult sightseeing. The formal planting accessed from the St. Machar side is really attractive. The open area which contains a WW2 pillbox, prehistoric tree and glacial boulder provides a great area for strolling. Take in the riverside walk and look for the hidden gardens in the top corner of the park. The riverside walk which leads from the memorial fountain winds around a bend in the river Don up to the Bridge of Don, one of the oldest bridges in Britain. Plenty of wildlife to see - ducks, herons etc. A grand day out on a sunny day.

Seaton park is a very beautiful, mysterious kind of park. It's pretty spooky, which I love! However, wouldn't walk alone in there at night, it has a bad reputation at night.

I lived the other side of the park at university. Student were regularly attacked in daylight by junkies, hobos and chavs yet the police and university did little about it except tell us to avoid it at night.

Spent some time in this park. The central path is well cared for and has a smashing display of flowers and other plants.

Huge fairly well maintained park, with great walks, play area, lots of grass areas, splendid array of mature trees & planted gardens, and plenty parking.
The choice of walks emanating from the Park is fabulous. Utilise the park car parking to enjoy the park and beyond.
Apart from the circular walk around the park, (making sure to come across the 'hidden garden' on the North section of the walk), passing St Machar Cathedral and either down past the River Don or through the lovely garden.
You can also walk out of the park to the south and through The Channory/Old Aberdeen (stunning buildings & atmosphere).
Or out along the River Don to the west and continue on along 'up' river through Donside development and into Grandholm, then the circular to Balgownie and back into the Park. Or continue 'up' river through to the Persley bridge and back down onto the river heading back to Grandholm, all rough paths but well worth the effort.
The final route from the park to the north, 'down' river takes you to the 'Brig O Balgownie (stunning) and the quaint Village. Continue down river to the Don Bridge and onto the mouth of the Don & Beach or head south west back into the Seaton Park.
Hours of fun and fresh air.
Improvements would be an area map informing of the available walks, a bit of history of the area and what a pity the derilict building on the west boundary and the water fountain in the gardens couldn't be maintained and in use.

We took a stroll through this park on our way to Brig o'Balgowie from St. Machar's Cathedral. I was amazed at how quiet this park was....there were very few people here in the middle of the day. The flowers were beautiful. There was also a playground where little ones could run off some excess energy. Definitely worth a visit if you are close!

We didn't plan to visit Seaton Park. We walked by when finding our way to St Machar's Cathedral. Not sure how big it was, the section we walked by has a parking lot and a beautiful garden before the cathedral.

A great mix of grassy areas, children’s play park, fountain, riverside walks, floral garden and views of the nearby cathedral. Nice open space with free parking next to the play park.

A lovely park, the gardens are so pretty, lots more to see including the Wallace Tower. Sat by the river Do. Which runs through it, very dramatic yet peaceful. Would visit again if in the area..

Is there any where to park overnight with my motorhome, at or near seaton Park.
Written 25 September 2018
There is a free car park in the centre of Seaton Park but I don’t think it is suitable for overnight parking. There are residential roads close to the park but they are not big so a motor home may block the way for oncoming traffic.

Is there parking available here? Or somewhere nearby?
Written 15 February 2018
Hello,
You can park near St Machar Cathedral but it is pay and display. I parked in the Spital (free) and walked through Old Aberdeen.
