Such a fantastic place to visit. So much history. The houses are lovely and intriguing. The beach is so close with the chance of seeing dolphins. So many great childhood memories. Great for a family visit.xx

Absolutely make an effort to get to this little village stuck in time. It has a fairy tale feel and it couldn't be anymore then breath taking.

Walked down to Footdee from the centre of Aberdeen and was interested in the historical part of the harbour. Very quaint cottages and gardens with a Mission Hall in the centre and close by the busy port of Aberdeen.

Lovely afternoon having walk around this old neighbourhood. Very clean and tidy area. Locals very friendly and great conversation from them.

This little 'village' is a delight to walk around. People live in this charmingly idiosyncratic community - little houses and individual sheds cheek by jowl with huge port buildings and ships.

Lovely fishermen's cottages and sheds. Well worth a visit. Can be very blustery so wrap up warmly. Parking can be a little difficult - park on the promenade. Nice children's play park themed to boats.

Walking around Footdee (Fittie) I got a sense of how people used to live in little fishing communities. This little community with its quaint and quirky little homes warmed my soul.

We visited this time as part of the North East Open Studios week and saw two different artists work. I love Fittie - it is made up of tiny fisher cottages in a couple of squares with an eclectic mix of sheds across the pavement...More

Yes you can walk it in twenty minutes or so, but goes past the docks so is not very pleasant for a stroll! Best bet is to drive and park at the sea front for free.
