Shipquay St & Richmonf Centre

Lovely shops and bars especially Jamms for Coffee & food and clothes in the Richmond Centre, however, very steep for walking, get your flat shoes on !!

Always sure to get a great drink and food at different restaurants on this street. Plus there is an entrance to Richmond half way up the street.

We spent some time in this whole area and it is well worth just appreciating the architecture, old and new and the deep history.

Beautiful piece of history located right downtown. Connects the walk way on top where you can walk along and see many memorials and monuments.

Excellent photo opportunity - just mind the traffic, interesting historically and architecturally, and a good starting point for a walk around the city centre. It's an iconic feature and you shouldn't miss it ...in fact you can't miss it, really, on your walkabout.

Visited as part of my interest in Londonderry's City Wall - and is close to the Guildhall (and the bus station). Still in use on a daily basis. For history "buffs" and general tourists. Historically - was closed to invaders and was part of the Siege of Derry.

During the times of the Seige and before, this gate led to a wooden jetty and the land on which now stands the River Front and Guildhall was all claimed by the River. This jetty is where food and essential supplies where brought into the city.

Part of the historical old walled city that was closed in the face of King James at the start of the siege. It's also a good focal point of the city

We walked through this gate headed to the Guildhall. From here you get a great view of the Peace Bridge and Shipquay which will take you to the Diamond Square.
