The whole of the Bogside seems like a memorial to the "Troubles".I found it a little difficult to visualise the events as the whole area has been redeveloped but to stand on the spot where the British army shot and killed British citizens in Britain...More

A shameful history but not hidden in the City of Derry. If your understanding, or more likely lack of it, has been gleaned from government/activist/paramilitary/media statements and coverage, and you have an interest in the troubles and how its affected the lives of ordinary people...More

I found it a terrible loss of innocent lives. I felt this was an unprovoked show of power & a totally unnecessary attack on peaceful protesters. Made me feel angry & sad at the same time.

The memorial itself is small in stature, but the emotions that go along with it are large. Couldn't help but put the U2 song through my thoughts while there.

Truthful, sad, museum depicting the day 18 young people were innocently killed during a peaceful protest. It took 30 some odd years for the truth to finally come out and the Brits admitted fault, and apologies.

There are refrigerator badges of this landmark for sale in shops throughout the city. Scene of barracades in times past now a monument to the plain people of the area and their proud attempt to get justice for the events of that awful Sunday of...More
