Now that spring has almost arrived, and with it the promise of an amazing burst of colour from the ancient rhododendron stands, the visitor is in for a treat. There has been a big effort to put hard paths down in order to avoid walking through soft muddy areas, and to get walkers to avoid some of the more sensitive... More

This was our first visit to Rowallane and, although we can appreciate that it would be a lovely place in spring, summer or autumn, the Christmas fair was a big let down. It was heavily populated and as we left we could not understand what the attraction was. No real facilities for children other than a pathetic donkey ride and... More

We live only a few miles away so this is a regular visitor. During the summer it is open to 8pm and we enjoy a quiet walk after tea. The new paths are great and stay dry so don't need to wear boots anymore. Gardens are best spring sum.er and autumn but walks good during winter. For dog owners there... More

Come here often on the weekend, nice coffee shop and it's often nice enough to sit outside and have a snack after a walk around the wonderful walled garden.

I would recommend this place if you fancy a day with nature, when you arrive, you will be greeted by very welcoming staff ( and that's just when you pay in ) the grounds at rowallane gardens are lovely and consist of formal garden, lake and woodland walks, that will impress you. It is not to big, but we found... More

Very disappointed .When I went to pay my entrance fee the girl asked me for £5.80 and when I challenged this she said it was an added gift cost. I think the ordinary price was £5.25.....I would have paid the extra if she had explained the different entrance fees when I first asked.!!! The grounds were very nice but there... More

Friendly welcome and helpful map. Service in the cafe was also very friendly. The walks are all a bit different, adding variety. Beautiful grounds and a peaceful experience.

I am a fan of the gardens and a regular visitor as a NT member. A great venue whether it is for a leisurely walk around the grounds or a quiet coffee in the cafe. Very dog friendly with a separate enclosed field allowing free exercise. Other NT venues should follow this lead!! Friendly and helpful staff and quite often... More
