Went to Rowallane today with my wife and it was super. The gardens are looking great in their autumnal colours. The new paths make it so easy to get around and a great spot for all ages and family members, even Phoebe our Westie!!:-)

We had a nice time wandering around the gardens at Rowallane and also enjoyed letting our dog run around the special enclosed dog area, however we did not have much time and it was quite expensive as we were just looking to take the dog...More

Lovely walks around the gardens. Plenty of areas to explore (including for Geocachers) and expansive areas for children to play.

Many of the trees in the parkland have identification labels and are very old and stunning. The pathways meander around and you just want to see what's round the corner. The walled gardens are well maintained and still looking good in mid September.

Visited as a family of 6, all National Trust members, lovely formal gardens and magical extended grounds. The gardens include helpful information about a range of plants and we will be using this advice to get some rabbit resident border plants for home. Pleasant cafe...More

A group of us, six in fact were going to go for lunch, then discovered we would have to pay £5.90 each to get into the restaurant, so I am afraid we left and went elsewhere. Why can't Rowallane be like Mount Stewart where you...More

BBQ, no, I'm afraid but there's lots of places to picnic. Tables are in the court yard and behind the main house. There's also a very welcoming café with home cooked food.
