Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's the sheer bulk of the Clonard Monastery that takes you aback.
Such a lot of work went into creating this simply huge and overpowering building; more like a fortress than a place of worship.
You'll pass it if you're doing a stroll around the Falls Road area - you can't miss it!
It's now part of the Redemptorist community.

The Church is impressive, well decorated, lots of statues and art works. There's a very beautiful Organ as well.
We were told that secret conversations between John Hume and Gerry Adams were held in rooms in the complex while wider, interfaith conversations helped contribute to the 1994 IRA ceasefire.

We were told by friends & family to try and make time to visit the Beautiful Clonard Monastery in West Belfast when in the area. Not only did we enjoy the pleasure of sharing mass in a wonderful church but we also had the fortune of meeting some very special people. We had not planned to be at the 9.30 am mass but as fate often bestows good fortune our early start in the day meant we could get there in time for the celebration. When we mention fate, it was inconceivable that we would also find the relics of Padre Pio, St Vincent de Paul and St Louise de Marillac in attendance at the service. We were asked if we knew the people in the photograph when it was sent to our family and the response was simple, "Yes, they were just friends we had never met"!

Clonard Monastery is a historic and interesting church. I found it very dark but nevertheless less well worth a visit. I would imagine the whole place would come to life if the lights were lit and a crowd of people were present. It is a pretty big church and I understand there is a monastery attached but this is not open to the public. It is an ideal place to just sit and listen to the silence while contemplating the lives of the many people who have passed through this building

Stunning marble design and decor exuding a heavenly ambiance . A refreshing spiritual oasis that has been a beacon light for embattled factions in the tenacious struggle through the perilous path of the peace process . There is selfless sacrifice and leadership exhibited here where one is invited to dine at the Lord 's healing table . Take a moment and breathe in the oxygen of Clonard !

We were needing a restroom after doing several hours of touring Belfast. We stopped at this church. I'm so glad that we did! It has breath-taking stained-glass windows. The rest of the church is just as beautiful! Our driver told us about this church and its involvement in the Good Friday Peace agreement. Very peaceful stop.

Visited Clonard Monastery Cathedral recently and found it a most tranquil place to spend some time meditating or saying a little prayer. It is beautifully decorated and has a serene atmosphere.

Many European cities have indescribable houses of worship; Belfast is no different, and the Cathedral at Clonard Monastery is exceptional. The depictions of the stations of the cross are absolutely stunning!

No matter what religion you are this is a very peaceful Monastery with a welcoming effect. The flowers are alwYs beautiful and there is a large carpark right at the front door. The Novena in June has a special effect....thus seen by all the crowds that go from everywhere no matter where your from or what Religion you are. A must for everyone at least once!!
