The centre of Belfast is laid out on a grid. City Hall is a good starting point. South is towards the river with its waterfront hall. Easy is into the shopping area.

Compared to Dublin, this area doesn't have a ton of historic-looking pubs. but it does have a lot of nice shops and restaurants. More modern-trending than Dublin, there is a lot to do and see. Two restaurants that I stopped into were both fantastic.

Wonderful walk. I have done it every time I am in Belfast. If the day is sunny, nothing beats it. If it rains, then I shorten it.

What is very noticeable is how clean the streets are! On a par with Stockholm. Much of the streets are either oneway traffic or bus and taxi only. Lots of pedestrianized areas. Very easy to get around.

The City Hall is very elegant and houses seasonal markets, such as we visited the Christmas market which is held 19th to 23rd December every year. The city area is full of restaurants, bars, pubs, and of course an interesting plethora of shops of all...More

Be sure to go in December for the German market held before Christmas! Take the on and off bus trip to see all around the city, stop at City Hall for the market.
