Pleasantly surprised by the expertise of the crew and their friendly demeanour. A very smooth trip across the Irish Sea despite the inclement weather. Worth spending a little extra to sit in the Stena Plus Lounge. Free endless coffee and biscuits and the hot meals...More

If you live in Scotland or the North of England, this is by far the best way to go to Ireland. The ferry is clean and the staff are great. Go Stena Plus and the food, drink and papers are free in a spacious and...More

This very pleasant short sea crossing made a great start and finish to our short vacation. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and even tried to get Rte TV in the lounge so that we could view a game going out to Scotland. Great service...More

This was our first time travelling with Stena. We sailed from Cairnryan to Belfast, return. We'd taken the Premium option which got us on and off the ferry first which meant we weren't caught up in traffic. The ferry wasn't busy in either direction so...More

Gorgeous Ship. The crossing from Belfast to Scotland was smooth and fast. The ship had loads of places to spread out and relax. The furniture was new and sparkling clean. Great ferry ride!

The ferry is efficient with check-in and boarding. The restaurant serves up fish n chips and burgers n chips and other fare. Plenty of places to sit and relax on the roughly 2 hour crossing with lounges that are very light business class lounges in...More

We decided to take the Stena ferry from Loch Ryan to Belfast for our short break. I thoroughly recommend paying the extra for the "Plus Lounge" and the cost includes priority boarding and disembarkation. The lounge situated at the front of the ferry offers panoramic...More

We travelled by ferry and didn't need any id when I flew you just need photo Id so a drivers license is enough! We didn't need anything either time for my toddler who didn't have a passport!

We also went by car but noticed several buses arriving in time for the ferry. Try googling your town to Cairnryan and see what you get. There's also a train station in Stranraer which may also provide a bus to the ferry.
