Came across McHugh's by accident from the outside you think a bit rough looking. But we went in a really quaint place the staff are excellent and a good menu. When the food came was really delicious. Will go back the next time we are in Belfast.

Spent a lovely afternoon here on a wet day , next to a cosy open fire. Great irish music and fabulous ambience. Good menu choice , shared a lovely cheeseboard and a few glasses of wine.

We stopped in for dinner on our way back from the Titanic Museum. It was wonderful. The previous night we sought a pub with traditional live Irish music and didn't find it. We walked into McHugh's and found a packed pub, delicious local cuisine, and traditional live Irish music. Score, hat trick!

Visited twice on the 20th August. The second visit was later in the evening, atmosphere was really good. Asked at the bar for a round of drinks, but was told that the bar had closed which is fine, only for someone to come to the bar 5 minutes after me ask for drinks, the same person who told me it... The oldest bar in Belfast. Great bar with a very knowledgable staff. Pretty good Whiskey and beer selection (Get the Belfast Black if you want a change from Guinness). Wanted fish and chips, however that was not available for dinner (it was available for the lunch menu). The dinner part of the restaurant was a bit more upscale than I... More

I have visited McHughs many times in the last 3 years. The managers and staff are fantastic and always make you feel welcome. Great live music and food is good quality and reasonably priced. Good selection of drinks. They did a great promotion for rugby World Cup last year with loyalty cards providing free drink and steak meal on final... More

We popped into McHughs because I needed I McPee. What a great find. The staff were really knowledgable about all the ales and spirits. I tried Jameson's Caskmate that was matured in stout barrels absolutely lovely. Belfast stout was a lighter alternative to Guinnes. Definitely with going their on purpose if you into your ales etc.
