Well it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we never got to take the tour. We did stop and take some photos. Not worth a side trip. And the one-lane roads leading to it are barely wide enough to fit one small car, so it was slow going and a bit hair-raising.

It IS a ruin! OK, don't expect much cover! That said, it's a really lovely ruin! It's not the romantic, covered in Ivy sort, it was all cleared away! It's amazing though to see how much was crammed into such a small space! The ruins are best seen from the other side (go through the main body and to the... More

We were staying quite close by so decided to take a look, we walked to the castle. Upon arriving we were greeted by a really nice lady in the shop. The cost of £3.50 each we felt for the entrance fee was a little expensive. After reading the information boards it was infact an Elizabethan mansion, so why it was... More

Nice place to look around but won't take too long as there is not that much to keep you there. Worth a visit.

Not a standard Welsh castle, more a tudor buidling with just one wing still intact comprising reception / shop and activity room on ground floor and large subdivided room on first floor with option to dress up. Good information boards, but no views from castle as in woodland above Oxwich bay. Reasonable value, good for children's activities but would only... More

More of an early Tudor fortified Manor House, theses ruins are pretty extensive, with a lot of hints as to what would have been there originally. For example, the beautiful Tudor stone window - now literally stone, as the back of the window was blocked up some time ago - would have led into a grand hall with views over... More

This was an interesting detour for me, perhaps better suited to families than older people. It is easy to find, being a short walk from the main beach car park or having its own one which you can easily drive to. The grounds themselves are not that extensive, but it nevertheless still worth a visit as the displays detailing the... More

This CADW property is free for English Heritage members of two years or more satnding, a nice extra for EH members visting Wales. It also has a free car park for visitors so unless you are going to Oxwich beach do not use the beach car park which is expensive for a short stay and a considerable walk away. it... More
