We took the train from Cardiff to Swansea and decided to visit the Dylan Thomas Center. The people at the reception were very friendly. We pretty much had the exhibit to ourselves so we could walk through at our leisure. Definitely learned a bit more about Dylan Thomas. Then we walked across the pedestrian bridge, enjoyed the sunshine and got... More

Finally got to drop by this centre, it was far more than I expected and wonderful to read so much about the great man. I loved the items in the shop too. Tempted to use the cafe for breakfast next time.

What a wonderful exhibition! So well laid out and extremely informative. A variety of presentation styles are included, with loads of visual feasts as well as a film and various audio samples available. The staff are extremely helpful and the centre is very well kept. Lovely coffee and welsh cakes too, as well as some handy maps and guides from... More

This is a well-organized little museum focused exclusively on the life of the poet Dylan Thomas who died in 1953. It seems to be complete with manuscripts, letters, photos, video and sound. It's free, too. Don't miss it if you go to Swansea. Refreshments and gifts are available.

Enjoyed the visit. It is based in the old docks area which is now part of the bay. It is housed in an old building which once was owned by the army. Nice to see and hear some of the history of Dylan Thomas and his life. Entrance is free and things for children to do.

The Dylan Thomas Centre, located in Swansea's old docklands, presents a fascinating insight into the life and work of Dylan Thomas. It will be of interest to anyone, regardless of prior background, who wanted to know more about Dylan Thomas. But I think one would get more out of it if one has already read at least Thomas' best known... More

I'm not at all familiar with Dylan Thomas's work but this is a fabulous place with tremendous variety including sound recordings and personal letters. I didn't know he had been so good when he was so young. Anyone visiting Swansea should make sure they come here.

Brief visit but this is a place we would have happily stayed at longer. Although we were not prior enthusiasts of Dylan Thomas, following this visit we listened avidly to the Burton and full cast recording of Under Milk Wood.
