You get your hard hat then walk off into the mines, see where and how they did their job back in the day, and climb some steps. When you exit you get some stunning views of the mountains!

Visited early morning in October, few visitors so viewed the mine on our own, self guided tour with plenty of time to read information sheets, listen to audio and take photographs. Wrap up warm and wear a waterproof, low passages plenty of open stairways to...More

We stopped here on a very wet Sunday on our way home. You don't get many opportunities to climb through a mine and the children quite liked the experience. It's a bit dim, moist and a steady 10C all year round so do bring a...More

Personally I found it interesting. I would have liked to see more stalagmites and stalagtites but ducking through the winding, wet tunnels banging my head (they give you hard hats) was fun. The 186 steps at the end was worth it for tge gorgeous views....More

We loved it here. The young man working was just lovely. So friendly informative. The mine was really well done and interesting. Watch your head if you're tall though. Excellent experience

I took my 6 year old and 2.5 year old in there only 2 days ago. My youngest just about managed the stairs by himself, and he was wearing a backpack/rein thing, so I could guide him with the handle on it. The height from the... More
