Our family trip to the Sygun Copper mine started off fantastically, we were all very excited, finding the right sized hard hats and enjoying the rainy Welsh views. Andy at the shop explained the mine and how we were to go about, the number of...More
This is a self Tour attraction so you are given a hard hat and pointed to the entrance and off we went. There are 6 audio commentary points along the caverns, but be aware there are 180 odd steps as well. Interesting & different, but...More
A very interesting and satisfying visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Well worth the money. Excellent gift shop and cafe serving coffee with freshly ground beans which is a rarity. Definitely recommend here,
visited this attraction while in the area with my 2 children, we found the mine tour really interesting, it gives you a good insight into the working life of a miner. We really liked the fact that it was self guided so we could walk...More
We loved visiting this Victorian copper mine which gives a great insight into the life of a miner. It does require a waterproof and strong shoes though as you are walking through narrow passages and up steep steps. A definite adventure!
First of all, don't follow the Sat Nav code it doesn't take you to the copper mine!
We visited the copper mines as it looked really special in the photograph on the website suggest that the mine opens up into a beautiful copper cave, it...More
Good playground but not if it was raining as the soil got all soaked and muddy. Even with wellies you get dirty and wet.
You get a hard hat and walk on your own into the mine. We wanted to see the beautiful caves but...More

It's rubbish, absolute rip off prices for entry and very poor guiding (no staff about)...you press a button for poor quality and uninspiring stories - if someone is by the button when you get there you either have to wait till the audio has finished...More
We stopped off here for the day. It is what you make of a day out and when a lot of attractions around snowdonia are ridiculously expensive this isn't.
The tour around the mine was actually very impressive and felt like you could be working...More

I took my 6 year old and 2.5 year old in there only 2 days ago. My youngest just about managed the stairs by himself, and he was wearing a backpack/rein thing, so I could guide him with the handle on it. The height from the top of one particular flight if the stairs is quite high for those afraid of heights, but we had no issues with either of them! Depending how your LO is with steps, you may need to carry them up some of it - I saw lots of dads doing this! Also I would recommend full waterproofs and wellies - it is wet in there & a bit mucky!
