A great place to chill out
Jul. 2021 • Couples
A picturesque village with a handful of shops. Narrow roads and not much in the way of pavements mean that traffic and people are not on the road. Care must be taken by all who visit. It is very popular with little car parking. Bathing/paddling in the river seems to be the main attraction. There are plenty of bathing places downstream as well, but have to be walked to. There is next to no parking on the road heading south to access the bathing downstream. Pebble balancing is in aplenty by the bridge.

A picturesque village at the foot of Yr Wyddfa.
A few shops, pubs and tea rooms in the village.
A walk to see Gelert's Grave is a much, it's how the village got its name! You can read about the history of Gelert

Lovely village

Very busy with traffic and day trippers. Great to stroll by the river particularly when sun is shining.

Brief visit from Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway

Avoid The Royal Goat Hotel if possible. It is expensive, giving short measures for beer and unaware of supposed 10% discount for specific rail travel customers as advertised!

Stay at the cottage Bryn Clio Beddgelert
Jun. 2021
Beddgelert , packed with visitors during the day , a ghost town after 8.00pm everything closes early. It is
a little expensive for anything in Beddgelert . Walks are beautiful. Excellent location for getting to places, if you want to book a trip or adventure do it a few weeks in advance..
Disappointed with the cottage we stayed in Bryn Clio, its situated on the main road , parking can be an issue but come out of the cottage and turn left about 500 meters on the right are 2 parking lots , we were unsure if it was private but we parked there for 4 nights.
Our cottage was dog friendly , however the seating area in the garden stated BBQ facilities ? there was none, the garden was not secure so we couldn't sit out as the dog would have been in direct access to the main road, also the seating area is very overlooked by 3 other properties.
Our cottage was a good size , clean and comfortable especially the beds. It could do with some kitchen utensils ( that is me being a little picky though )
I would not go back but that is purely because we were not able to let the dog outside.

Stunning village
May 2021 • Family
Beddgelert is a stunning village and a hidden gem. With little cafes, restaurants along the river and a visit of the grave of legend of Gelart.
Plenty of parking and pushchair friendly, it was like being in another world!

Peaceful location with a great tale behind it. A lovely walk (and swim for dogs!) and fabulous homemade ice cream from a local shop.

Took a walk around this pretty village in the afternoon. The car park is expensive, but at this time of year it was quite easy to find parking on the street.
Visited the legendary Gelert's Grave and there are (usually) a few restaurants and shops open in the village too.
