Excellent views of the river and old train station. Watched some people rowing an inflatable down the rapids. Well worth a visit

It's a pity about all the fabric panels...
Aug. 2021
This is a good viewpoint and popular photo spot for views of the river, corn mill and railway station.

It was just a pity that when I visited, the bridge was covered in cloth panels. I overheard someone describing it as looking like washing day.

These are part of a new artwork 'Bridges not Walls' . Quoting from the information panel on the bridge , this is a first commission in Wales for the internationally renowned Luke Jerram, known for his art installations around the world. It is part of the International Music Eisteddfod which is returning this year.

The bridge is covered with over on hundred fabric panels made by the local community and others around the world. Looking closely, they have all been machine sewn (and not very well at times). Also several panels are beginning to come unstitched and beginning to look tatty.

It might have been a good idea on paper but in practice look tacky and distracts from the beauty of the bridge.

How can you review a bridge? Does it take you to the other side? Yes Is there anything negative about it? No Is it suitable for everyone? Yes. Should I visit? Yes Why? because its lovely and you can spend ages just long down at the river rushing below, soaking up the view. If you do get a chance to stop off take it.

after the covid this was one of the places i wanted to get back to. The new covid Planters make the town feel safe. i believe the local's are on 2 sides about there use but if feels better But watch what you say. The shopkeepers don't like them but you feel safer walking around them and down to the bridge for the best view

Great viewing spot

This bridge is a great spot, central to town, to take in the rushing waters through the rocky riverbed, the train system alongside it and the receding valley heading up the River Dee.

A Normal Stone Bridge over the River Dee

This seems to be a focal point in the town where the bridge is situated to take photos of the rapids in the river Dee.
