Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

Fascinating castle

A fascinating castle with a wonderful amount of battlement walkways which the children really enjoyed. A great shop and a good two hour visit which kept everyone's attention.

What you from the outside is what you get. I only paid to go, because it's somewhere I've passed many times, but never visited. It is essentially the outer walls, all of the interior building are nothing more than ruined foundations. The view from the walls is nice, on a nice day. Probably only worth a visit when there's an... More

It was interesting to visit the castle and especially to climb the towers and have this amazing view over the mountains and the sea!

Have visited a lot of castles in past in Europe and actually paying 9quid for this one was waste on money and time. Only what you can see there is bricks and walls.

Beautiful castle with lots to see. Enjoyed the little plaques located near points of interest which provided information. Loved walking the ramparts of the Castle and the 1.3km city walls.

The castle is definitely worth going to if you are looking to kill a couple of hours. So many different parts of the castle to see and the sights at the very top are amazing. Great atmosphere and suitable for everyone. The only criticism I would have is parking is awful! We had to wait ages for a space as... More

If you are a member English heritage show your card for discount. Lots to see in this ruin and although stairs steep it's worth a visit to each of the towers and lower section. There is a section where the kings head is still there so they have a wrought iron head hanging above which takes a great photo. The... More

On a sunny day Conwy is a quaint little town and you can walk around the castle wall free of charge. This was great fun for the children. There's plenty of history around and nice views from the top of the wall.

Wales and numerous castles, but this is one of the best...majestic walls and ramparts, columns set against the old harbour. Inside offers a joyful walkaround to imagine life centuries ago...visit the keep and dungeon areas.

You should visit the castle at least once - not only for an opportunity to learn about the life of the castle, but also for the views and panoramas you can get from the top of the battlements and many towers.
