We only knew of the museum's existence when we read the brochure about the castle and we looked forward to our visit as part of the general tour of the castle. As with most military museums, it does not do the soldiers of the era...More

First stop was the guards chapel a haven to remember the many that have given so much for our freedom.Then a visit to the museum full of interesting displays right up to the modern day,well worth the visit,so much so nearly missed my train home.

Visited the museum to have a rest from climbing castle spiral stairs and found that the story through the ages to the modern-day was so absorbing that we nearly missed the train back to Porthmadog!
