Inigo Jones Slate Works produces a wide range of products from 500 million year old natural Welsh slate. These products are available at our Showroom, located in Groeslon, North Wales. As well as our Showroom, there is also a popular Workshop audio-tour for all the family to enjoy geological, historical, calligraphy and letter cutting exhibitions, and children can also compete in our quiz to win a slate prize. There is also a Welsh Rock Cafe which offers snacks and drinks to our customers. Come and have a look!

Took a self guided tour round the works. Interesting and informative. Very enjoyable. However, the site is a mess. I understand the works are still used but leaking roofs, half cleaned equipment etc etc....it's really not a good advert and the works do appear unsafe....More

Thanks for your comments which are noted. The self guided tour will be available in Welsh as well as a number of other languages before the end of this year. We are a slate workshop and not a museum but note what you say Diolch...More

Disappointed as the leaflet makes this look like a full working slate mine attraction - which it is not! This is a shop, albeit with nice line of slate souvenirs. I will direct you to other peoples reviews on the self-directed “tour” which is given...More

We are not sure why you thought we are a slate mine attraction as clearly we are not and have never advertised or claimed to be so we can but assume you have mixed us up with another attraction. We are a slate workshop with...More

With an audio guide, you take yourselves around the old slate works, stopping at numbered buildings and listening to a very interesting and informative guide as to what happened in each part of the works. Some of it is still used today, and they produce...More

Anglesey, Snowdon, Bedgelert, Llyn Peninsula, and North West Coast just a hop skip and a jump away. Fantastic base of operations in the North West with a nice town centre and cool historic castle. Unlike much of Wales, it's not too far from major Northern...More

Your comment is not specifically to do with this company but refers to the town of Caernarfon, from which we are only 6 miles, and as you say Caernarfon is convenient for visiting and exploring North Wales

Super selection of products made on site, by keeping all sized bits of slate many types of gifts can be made. The introductory video is very informative, the self guided tour is also informative but quite wordy. Although the shop is free to entere there...More

The factory shop is accessible and there are disabled parking spaces. I am not sure if the tour would be accessible. We went to the cafe next door which I think is an independent organisation. There was easy access but the food was limited with...More

Thanks for visiting. 90% of the tour is accessible with the exception of the Calligraphy exhibition which is up a flight of stairs. The cafe which is franchised does have a vegetarian option.
