We had a guided tour around this small but beautiful church. The person showing us around had an amazing knowledge of the church's history. It is situated right in the middle of the town, so very easy if you are using local transport.

Delighted to find this redundant church open, wonderfully preserved example of early Georgian worship. Free entry, donations welcome.

Unplanned visit. Booked lunch at the adjacent restaurant and realised as we arrived for lunch that the church was open to visitors. Free to walk around and interesting 18th century building. First thing that amazed me was the original boxed pews including some child-like graffiti...More

This smallish city-centre church with its box pews has a wonderful (?replica) console for the organ , with hand-operated bellows beside it. The elaborate pulpit is as fine as any others I've seen this year

St Swithun's does hold some services but in the main it has been preserved as a museum piece which show the old Box Pews and a Three Tier Pulpit. Interestingly, the Mayor of Worcester had a reserved seat of the front which faced the congregation....More

Good that the building is being conserved after becoming redundant. Two-piece ensemble playing when we visited on Saturday morning. Fine Georgian style with interesting pulpit.

St Swithun’s Church is well worth a brief visit if you find yourself in Worcester city centre. It normally open daily from 11am to 3pm, but if closed you can apparently borrow a key from the tourist information centre in the Guildhall (5 minutes’ walk...More
