Nestling at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Malvern Theatres is a major centre for the arts in the West Midlands. Home of the famous Malvern Festivals, founded by Bernard Shaw and Barry Jackson in 1929, the theatre underwent a lottery-funded refurbishment in 1997. Hailed both locally and nationally as a model of artistic and architectural excellence, Malvern Theatres boasts one of the most diverse selection of plays, music, comedy, dance, film and education work to be found under a single roof anywhere in the country.

We decided to make the trip from Chipping Campden to Great Malvern by public transport even though we had a hired car. We took the bus from the front of our hotel (Noel Arms) to the train station in Moreton in Marsh. From Moreton we took the train and walked from the station to the theatre. An easy and pleasant... Came to see James Bolam as he reminds my wife of her deceased father. The content of Fracked was up to date and relevant. The comic content was great although my wife and I felt very young,in an aged audience. We thoroughly enjoyed the show .

Really enjoyed our visit (Abigail's Party). Lovely auditorium, friendly staff, in one of my favourite towns. We'll be back in the summer. On the downside are the booking fees - just build them into the price of the tickets) and the bar prices were extortionate. I don't care if they are comparable to other theatres, be different and give value... More

Dear ValleyGator, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review and for your honest feedback. I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed Abigail's Party and that you found our staff friendly. As the booking fee goes directly to the theatre, it has to be kept separate from ticket price when the transaction is made otherwise the... More

We went to see "Abigail's Party" at the Malvern Festival Theatre. The production and cast were excellent and made for a very enjoyable afternoon in very pleasant surroundings. As the play progressed the dialogue got funnier, reaching a very comical climax. Money well spent.

Fantastic venue, comfortable seats with a great view of stage, we were in the circle but have had good views in stalls too. Expensive bar and snacks.

Excellent provincial theatre that is usually well patronised (small 'house' last night). Comfortable, atmospheric and good ice creams at 'half time' Drops one star owing to ridiculous 'Booking Fee' which is totally disproportionate to the price of the tickets being booked. A total rip-off which the management need to address as I am sure some would-be customers would not buy... More

Dear RossAndrews, Thank you very much for review. I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed the production of Mindgame and that you find the theatre comfortable and atmospheric. As a receiving house, it's important to note that we rely heavily on the booking fee to keep our doors open. The shows staged here are not ours, therefore the majority of... More
