Thanks for your review, especially for your comments about interesting things for younger children and the selection of items for sale in our shop. We may be a small museum, but we have a lot to offer. And we are only 15 minutes from Windsor!

There was a lovely interesting lady on the desk as we went in and we spent time looking at the History of Maidenhead and although we aren't from that area it still was very much worth a visit.

We booked this trip, organised and run by the Maidenhead Heritage Centre, as a company outing. It was easy to park the cars in the car park across the road from Maidenhead Promenade and embarkation/disembarkation was also straightforward. The boat, operated by French Brothers, had...More

It is free to get in but there is a Spitfire simulator upstairs which will cost a little. It is not huge but has some interesting things on display and covers some local history.

I'm delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed discovering the amazing story of Air Transport Auxiliary and then had a Spitfire simulator flight over 21st century London. And thank you for recommending us to others - especially as August seems to be a rainy washout!

We had the most enjoyable morning here. There is such passion about the history. Colin was brilliant and spent ages chatting to us. The highlight was the Spitfire simulator. Happily neither of us crashed!!! Many thanks to all staff at the Heritage Centre xx
