I love Boulter’s Lock, it’s a really beautiful part of Maidenhead, with lovely scenic walks, a cafe and load to do or just chill out.

If you are in Maidenhead and close to the Thames, a quick walk to Boulter’s Lock should not be missed. There is a little car park by the pedestrian crossing near the bridge to the Island. There are also two ice cream huts, one by...More

Visited here for lunch. Beautiful views and surroundings. However the food was really poor and was delivered out at different times, a good 10 minutes between the first meal and the last. Very salty and the chips were warm French fries. Unfortunately would not hurry...More

Dirty sticky tables, fizzy shop bought coleslaw, cold McDonalds fries thrown on the plate and tasteless, stale chicken burger. Fishcake and Caesar salad far too salty. Our 4 meals came out at different times over the space of 15 minutes meaning we couldn’t all eat...More

I have been a customer of Boulters Lock for many years. Always happy with the experience in this wonderfully scenic restaurant. Not so this time. There is now no parking directly outside which means quite a walk from the nearest corporation car park. My favourite...More

Lovely to see the water pouring over the weir at this spot. Cafe and ice cream kiosks available but closed when we visited. The geese, ducks and swans are friendly though feeding is not allowed. One has to watch one’s feet walking over the grass...More

Ray mill island is open every day. There is no one on site permanently and it is run by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Info and phone numbers are on their website. Hope this helps!
