Salisbury Cathedral is undoubtedly the pride of the City of Salisbury, with good reason. During the Festive Season of 2016, one attended the world famous performance of Handel's masterpiece, Messiah, composed in 1741, which was performed by Salisbury Cathedral Choir is joined by four distinguished soloists and the wonderful orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, for a truly memorable performance.... Great day out for anyone interested in the architecture, the history, that surrounds this beautiful building and the city around it too. I lived in the area for 30 years and never tired of the city and was always finding out something new. Love it so much I moved away but can't help going back to visit

Set in a picturesque medieval village, Salisbury is a beautiful Gothic cathedral full of history with one of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta. There is a great deal of history here as well as fantastic photo opportunities.

We recently moved close to Salisbury and so it was our local carol service this year, in the cathedral. The service was beautiful, although some of the music selections rather...different, and I think everyone managed to be seated. Having said that, we arrived at 6 (and hour before it started) and there were at least 300 people in front of... More

This cathedral with its unique history including reading a copy of the the Magna Carta 1215 is truly inspiring. We walked around the cathedral and looked outside Edward heaths home ,former prime minister. Parking to the cathedral is £6.50 and you get a fresh pot of tea for free at the cathedral cafe. We booked in for a 1.5 hours... More

This is a wonderful building and we were struck by the very real warmth of the welcome from both guides and clergy alike. Do take a look at the impressive Magna Carta exhibit - we were fascinated and learned a lot.

Absolutely breathtaking. Don't miss this, it feels like time travel. We went at night, during an event, and the place was shadowed by the stories of centuries past...amazing.
