Superb Norman cathedral with the opportunity to climb inside the spire - we didn't have the time or the legs for it! Plenty of volunteers around to answer questions. The only thing we didn't like was a laser playing on a screen hanging from the ceiling. Didn't think it added anything to the majesty of the building.

Wow ! A beautiful Cathedral, built all in the same style. Wonderful grounds - I think Cathedral Close is the terminology. Definitely worth visiting. Entry is free, which is a bonus, as are the tours. Tower tours are at set times but Cathedral tours are on request. Naturally one makes a donation. We had a very knowledgeable Guide, with a... More

Majestic Cathedral sat in isolation, but very close to the town. Worth visiting the Magna Carta on display in a side annex.

But pity about cost to enter. About £8 adult £4 child alot of money when there'a a croud of you. I understand they need to raise money for repairs etc but are they not suppose to be open for everyone to enjoy and not for keeping people out.

The Cathedral is definitely worth a visit if you are planning a trip to Salisbury. They do ask for an entrance fee but... you do not have to pay this. I have never paid as I live here and feel that it my right. Of course the Cathedral does have the tallest spire in the country and so it is... More

A must see. Beautiful inside and out. Lots of nice restaurants near by and the cathedral café looked very nice. Be sure to walk up the street to see the charming medieval street, apparently one of the few completely intact blocks and all occupied as homes.

Very enthusiastic and helpful guides and some outstanding features, including a magnificent font with a 'mirror glass' effect top. The Magna Carta document is housed here. We were amazed at the tiny writing (the 'small print' we have nowadays was obviously invented very early). The Cloister is very beautiful in architectural form and the light that it admits. A coffee... More

Beautiful Cathedral in a wonderful setting!. A lovely morning spent looking around this amazing building. The staff and volunteers on site were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The magna carta exhibition was an added bonus and excellent for children with various activities for them to do. The lovely cafe and shop at the end of the tour finished the morning off... More
