I go to the West Yorkshire playhouse as often as possible. There isn't a single seat with a bad view however much you pay. They have a great variety of entertainment from classics to stand up comedians. Occasional audiences with playwrites. I have been disappointed with the catering but I haven't tried it recently so hopefully it has improved. There... More

I've been here a few times over the years and i really really do enjoy it. I went recently with my girlfriend and we seen The Witches. It was bloody great and the acting was just top. We both really enjoyed it and for the price it's well well worth a visit.

Took my children aged 6 and 7 to see The Sheep Pig on Wednesday night. (15.2.17) The theatre seats were comfortable, there were plenty of toilets and ice cream was on sale in the theatre as well as foyer at the interval. The play was fantastic and there was a great energy in the theatre. Definitely be on the lookout... More

I have been to this theatre many times, and the great appeal for me is the close proximity to the stage. It is great to see the expressions on the faces of the actors and feel the effort they are making to create the show. The theatre is modern, very comfortable and has good facilities. The range of productions is... More

Visited WYP on a Friday night in January to see Strictly Ballroom. What a fantastic show. Loved the film, but the stage show was awesome! This theatre has NO bad seats. All spacious and with a great view of the stage. No overhanging balcony or structures that restrict your view. We ate in the restaurant before the show. Hadn't booked... More

Fabulous show. I had not visited the Playhouse since I was a teenager in the Seventies but I will be back. It is easy accessible for all ages and abilities. The staff were well organised and helpful. Spacious ,unlike some of the more traditional theatres ,and good access to your seats.

Jane Austin said there is no sense in a play without curtains so when I entered the theatre to be confronted by a beautifully lit red curtain, I was already on side! The thunderous spontaneous standing ovation said it all. The show was an absolute treat and everyone connected with it should be immensely proud, Thank you for one of... More

Went to see Strictly Ballroom here on Tuesday. The show was absolutely brilliant but obviously we're reviewing the venue here. Great intimate theatre with parking nearby (Victoria Gate). Very reasonable - only £3 for 5 hours post 6pm. The Playhouse public areas aren't particularly spacious - small lobby with woefully understaffed bar. Equally the queue for the ladies loo took... Had tickets bought for xmas present for Strictly Ballroom. Super show well acted. Fantastic energy, good (if common) theme ! boy meets girl falls in love / triumphs over adversity and domineering mother. Nevertheless if this show doesn't give you a lump in your throat and bring a tear to your eye there's no hope for ya. Watch out for... More
