Leeds City Museum is a fabulous old building, with rooms beautifully arranged to display the exhibits. At present there is an exhibition of the Four Seasons on the top floor, featuring objects illustrating each season. It is very well laid out. We spent quite a bit of time in the Life on Earth gallery which was at once both fascinating... More

Nice museum, not too big so kids don't get bored and there is lots of hands on stuff so kids can get involved. The museum often has free kids events on and is free to enter so it is definitely worth a visit. We went on a rainy day and it was very busy. There is also a cafe and... More

We visited the museum while in Leeds for the weekend. I know it's not London but we expected a bit more. We managed about an hour in the place but to be honest we could have been in and out in half the time. Our son enjoyed looking at the different things under the microscope but not much more, perhaps... More

I visited here with my family a while ago and was fascinated by the impressive choice of things to see and do at this central museum. Very easy access from the train and well worth a visit, especially with children. Isabella Elwin.

I love animals and just walked into this place with no expectations. I liked it, my nephew would defiantly enjoy it more than me as their target the scientists of tomorrow. I would highly recommend it for families.

We thought we would take a look after viewing the surrounding area. The museum was free and gave a good insight to Leeds and the developing City's past. We spent 3 hours here and came away with a better understanding of Leeds part in the industrial revolution. Very interesting.

Been here at both a young and older age, loved it each time. Perhaps they could use to update themselves once in a while, but still great.

Not that much of the exhibits is specific to Leeds. Dusty exhibition cases and poor information and lay out. Managed 45 minutes max and really didn't learn much. Very sad as there is a rich heritage and history to this City but you'd never know it from this place. Civic pride is distinctly lacking

Attended for a talk on 'MandS clothing in winter' which was informative, and took the chance to look around. An old building which has been modernised in a suitable manner. Lots of staff around. The special exhibition about the year was aimed at children, lots of buggies at the entrance. Some nice Bermantofts ceramics however. The section of museum about... More

Lots of learning, lots of fun! Had a great visit. Lots to see and learn, can't see everything in detail in a day's visit with a school, but was good to browse the various galleries before a focused workshop.
