We went for the Hockney exhibition and were not disappointed. It was great to some of his work from the 1950's - ones I'd never seen before. However, the gallery has such a diverse range of works of art that the whole experience was excellent....More

Cartwright Hall is located in Lister Park, around a mile and a half north of Bradford, in the suburb of Manningham. I took the 626 bus from Saltaire to get there. Lister Park is very nicely laid out and Cartwright Hall is a fine building,...More

Beautiful building located in spacious parkland in Bradford. The Hokney exhibition shows a whole range of his work from early family photographs through time in America, I pad drawings and prints. Lots of information about the artist and his local connections.

The first impression of the Gallery is the splendour of the building and the stunning floral displays at the entrance. The gallery is big enough to be worth visiting but can be seen comfortably in a couple of hours. We certainly enjoyed it.

Visited the first time for twenty-odd years to see the new Hockney gallery. Worth it just for that - an intimate insight into the artist's life and some of his brilliant works. Very well done. The adjacent rooms are most imaginatively hung with visiting works...More

This was our first trip to Bradford. We had come hundreds of miles to see the new Hockney Gallery and arrived with our luggage, which the kind front desk staff stored for us behind their desk as it wouldn't fit in the lockers. We wanted...More
