We chartered a boat for a family celebration and were looked after royally. We had two hours cruising up and down the canal at a leisurely pace, spotting lots of birdlife, whilst enjoying tea and delicious home made cakes (including gluten free options on request). Our 'crew' were very friendly and helpful. Our family ranged in age from 1 to... More

We had such a lovely family day out. The sun was out and the slower pace of the river made us all relax and forget our busy lives for two hours. The volunteers were so helpful and informative but gave us space and time to enjoy our trip. We enjoyed the fresh sandwiches and drinks (a plentiful supply of both).... More

I have been on the canal boats twice now. It is run by volunteers and it is a very peaceful, relaxing trip. It takes about 1 h1/2 at a slow pace which let you see details of the nature around the canal, with many water birds. We were lucky to see a fox on the verge. The skipper was kind... More

We had Australian visitors and whilst on an ancestry search decided to show them the delights of a piece of old England. A sunny but not too warm afternoon but they were enthralled with the whole experience. Having visited the Visitor Centre we took a slow stroll down the canal pointing out the various features, particularly the wildlife, birds and flora.... More

Myself and my husband decided to take the fish and chip canal trip while visiting family. It seems to be run by volunteers who are all very friendly. It is a very pleasant jaunt with the added bonus of fish and chips. I was really looking forward to these having done a long bike ride the day before. I think... More

This excursion is affordable and is run mainly by volunteers who have been highly trained and are not short of enthusiasm in sharing their knowledge of not only the canal but also the surrounding areas. We were on the Kingfisher which was clean and quite comfortable for three 1hr and 15 minute trip. Thankfully the weather held which enhanced our... More

What a marvellous afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. It was an absolute pleasure to spend a generous two hours aboard the 'Richmond' on a sunny Sunday afternoon, gently gliding our way along the Chichester canal. An abundance of wildlife and spring time flowers greeted us along our journey. We booked a lovely afternoon cream... More

A friend and I have just returned from a delightful afternoon spent ambling along the canal, served with the most delicious home made cakes by two of the friendliest and most helpful volunteers you could wish to meet -Wendy and Janet. It's not an awe inspiring or spectacular trip but peaceful and gentle and very British! I think it would... More

Discovered this cruise by accident and must say it was a pleasant discovery. I will recommend to friends that they visit the canal. There is indoor and outdoor seating at the café with lovely views of the water or you can enjoy one of the canal boat trips available or just meander along the tow path. The volunteers who are...
