Nice place for a picnic

We have often picnicked here, it is great for the kids to run about and the adults can relax either take a rug or use one of the nice benches.

Beautifully tranquil gardens secreted in the middle of Chichester, next to the cathedral. Lovingly tended, with plenty of benches and seating areas. Highly recommended...

Hidden behind the Cathedral, but accessible from Avenue de Chartes, this is a delightful place for a picnic. Some benches provided.

I wouldn't have known about these gardens if it wasn't for Trip Advisor. It is tucked away behind the cathedral, a real peaceful and serene place. It was free to enter, one information board on the way in, other than that it is free to explore for as long as you like. There is a fantastic view of the back... More

Had a lovely family picnic on the freshly cut grass children loved it....Flowers blooming and sun out.... Green all around the trees stop any traffic noise... From now until September this is an ideal spot to get away from the rush and yet still close enough to walk into Chichester get get any shopping you may need.

The Bishop's Palace Garden is a tucked away gem that is well worth visiting all year round. It has a gorgeous view of the cathedral looking back over the wall of the garden and the palace beyond and in summer you may see the peregrines diving off the tower. The garden is beautifully kept by the largely volunteer team, helping... More

Very restful, sheltered gardens within sight of the Cathedral. Magnificent magnolia in April. Lovely spot for a picnic or a quiet read.
